In relation to Bulan Puasa

Al-jihad fi sabil Allah translates to struggle in the way of Allah.

This is mandatory for all Muslims, especially during this month of Ramadhan when Muslims are supposed to embark upon a war on themselves, so to speak.

Hence, Ramadhan is not only about abstaining from food and drink. It is also about fighting against anger, lust, greed, envy, pride, jealousy, etc. And lust has a wider meaning than just sex. Lust for comfort, wealth, power, position, recognition, etc., are also included

The Malays would profusely defend al-jihad fi sabil Allah as the duty of all Muslims. And to the Malays there is no compromise on the issue.

Selamat Berpuasa

 .

How long is your Refractory Period

What is Refractory Period (RP)?

The RP is the time following ejaculation before a man can have another erection. The RP increases with age:

(1) In young and virile men, the refractory period is about 24 hour. No problem in this group
(2) By midlife, the refractory period may be as long as 24 hours. Yes I am here. So I discuss more
(3) For older male, it can last days in a man who is in his seventies or older.

For Group 2, the advantage is that he can achieve multiple organism. This means one can enjoy multiple pleasurable sensations of the rhythmic contractions without ejaculation.

In 1/2 hr sexual encounter, I can have 2 organisms (but no ejaculation). Anyway the release of semen (ejaculation) and organism are separate events

Generally, as far as male sexuality is concerned, men can experience multiple orgasms at midlife because they have greater control of the ejaculatory process and are able to differentiate between orgasm and ejaculation. Its true, I experience this personally in the last few years and is enjoyable!!! hehe

Health + Masturbation

“Masturbation is part of a healthy sex life,” “It’s totally safe and harmless. It’s healthier than brushing your teeth every day.” - says Gloria Brame, Ph.D., a clinical sexologist.

5 Health Benefits

1) It prevents prostate cancer.

A 2003 Australian study found that men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer. Disease-causing toxins build up in your urogenital tract and when you rub one out, you flush the bad guys out of your system, says Brame.

2) It makes you harder.

As you age, you naturally lose muscle tone … even down there. Regular sex or masturbation works out your pelvic floor muscles to prevent erectile dysfunction and incontinence. “It keeps the angle of your dangle perky,” says Brame.

Aim to (ahem) arrive 3 to 5 times a week for rock-solid results.

3) It helps you last longer.

Taking yourself to palm prom may help you stretch your sack sessions. “Masturbating an hour before a date will give you more control,” says Brame.

Train yourself by timing how long it takes you to orgasm, suggests Ava Cadell, Ph.D., founder of loveologyuniversity.com. If it usually takes two minutes solo, try for three next time. Or count how many strokes you need to get to your happy place. If you’re spurting after 50, shoot for 60. “Most men can double the number of strokes and the time within one month,”  Practice makes perfect, right?

4) It ups your immunity.

Ejaculation increases levels of the hormone cortisol, says Jennifer Landa, M.D., a specialist in hormone therapy. Cortisol, which usually gets a bad rap as a havoc-wrecking stress hormone, actually helps regulate and maintain your immunity in the small doses. “Masturbation can product the right environment for a strengthened immune system,” she says.

It boosts your mood.

Masturbating releases a slew of feel-good neurochemicals like dopamine and oxytocin that lift your spirits, boost your satisfaction, and activate the reward circuits in your brain. “An orgasm is the biggest non-drug blast of dopamine available,” says Brame. “A brain scan of someone having an orgasm looks like a heroin addict’s.”

Monk and Sex

Do Monks Have Sex?

When I agreed to speak to the Gay Buddhist Fellowship
in February, I hoped for a topic which offered listeners
support for their Buddhist practice.

I told my teacher, Geshe Yeshe Phegey, that I'd decided to pose the
question, "Do monks have sex with each other?"

He laughed and asked why anyone would be interested in
a monk's sex life.

But I knew the idea of men cut off from
general society while at the same time engaged in
Buddhist practice was a picture not just of monks, but
of the GBF membership. What, then, could be
more relevant?

In January I traveled to Gaden-Shartse, my monastery in
southern India, to ask my question.

The vow of celibacy I had taken three years before when I was ordained
allows for no sexual act (wet dreams are the exception-they
occur in sleep and are unwilled). Masturbation clearly
breaks that vow-and monks, I learned, did it.
"But no
one speaks about this," one monk explained.

"The young monks get up and wash their sheets and say nothing."
Awake and busy every day from six in the morning until after
midnight, monks would naturally be deprived of needed
rest by sexual arousal. They masturbate, I was told, while
trying to go to sleep
.

For Buddhists, the "why" of an act, its motivation, is as critical as the act itself.
But because I now knew that (some) monks did (sometimes)
masturbate, I wondered if they were also having sex with
each other.

Had I not seen plenty of young monks walking
along the monastery's crisscross of dirt roads, holding hands,
bending close and sharing private thoughts?

Consider this, however: in Tibet, India, and Nepal,
adolescents are encouraged to form strong and intimate
relationships with each other. The young monks I saw were
doing what so many others do, and if some were having sex
together, I would argue the intimate nature of their
friendships actually reduced the likelihood of sexual
follow-through.

In the end, whatever the work of sex and intimacy in monk's
lives, as Buddhist practitioners we must ask this: what
act/mindset best supports the work of compassion? How
do we each manifest the Bodhisattva prayer? This, after all,
is what the monastic vows are meant to encourage,
and what my own talk was meant to help illuminate:
May all sentient beings be parted from aversion and clinging,
not feeling close to some and distant from others.
May they win the bliss that is specially sublime.
May they find release from the ocean of unbearable sorrow,
and may they never be parted from freedom's true joy.

Key to Premature Ejacuation (4)

The Method:

Two times a day you will do the following

Tongue on the mouth ceiling, breath in and pull up your muscles (kegel) while imagining the sexual energy flow up via the spinal cord to the top of the head.

Then breath out and pull down your muscles (Reverse Kegel) while imagining the sexual energy flow out to the navel and  eventually land in the genetic area.

Do this xx times per session. So 1 day xx times. (Remember DO NOT overwork these muscles or else no effect)

It takes 6-12 Weeks to see the effect - so be patience

Key to Premature Ejacualation (3)

To have strong sexual muscles, we need to  gain control over both the PC and BC muscles. Strong muscles need to be supple (ie can bend easily just like supple dancers) and, hence, relax. If not, pelvic floor spasms can rush to ejaculate sooner than later.

So we will do:

A) Kegel exercise. It is a pull-up of your pelvic floor. (this is the area between your scrotum and your anus).

 PC stretch

This exercise involves squeezing your muscles like if you were holding your urine and contracting your anus

B)  pelvic floor pull-down, also called Reverse Kegel exercise. To achieve it, push as if you would urinate and fart

Key to Premature Ejaculation(2a)

Glad that I received an sms from a reader who is able to feel the "tinkling" sensation  after I responded the way to perform the correct way to breathe.

Correct way to breath

Breathe with our belly. Just observe how a newborn baby breathe.

Put your hand on your stomach. If you feel that the navel goes up when you breathe in, then this is the right way

This is deep breathing and very relaxing thus reducing our anxiety tremendously

Incorrect way to breath

Most people will breathe with the thorax , hence it is shallow breathing and less efficient. This is how most "modern" people breathe...... hehe

Key to premature ejaculation (2)

Before we discuss on the methodology aspect of using reverse kegel to combat premature ejaculation, an important aspect is to know the breathing techniques that are required in all the coming steps. So here it goes:

1) Lift tongue to the palate

2) Pull the PC muscle up (kegel) as you breathe in (at the same time, imagine that the sexual energy flow from the spinal cord to the head. Once it reach the top of the head........)

3)  Breath out and relax the PC muscle (or do a reverse kegel). (Continue your imagination to let the flow of the sexual energy eventually land at the genetial VIA the navel.)

How to know you have perform correctly?

You will feel a tinkling sensation either around the top of the head or the perineum area (the space between the anus and the scrotum)

Practice this for a while and we will continue with the steps in the coming post.

Key to Premature Ejaculation??(1)

.....by the use of Reverse Kegel method:

What is Reverse Kegel?

It could be described as a push down of the pubococcygeus muscle and of the bulbocavernosus muscle and help them to relax ----- similar to the motion of farting.

.
 Reason

An imbalanced pelvic floor can cause and maintain premature ejaculation. (whether it is psychological or physical)

The PC and BC muscles are supposed to be voluntary muscles, except during ejaculation, so having them work against you is an indication of a certain disorder.

In order to last longer, balance has to be restored.

This is the main goal of the Reverse Kegel Exercise which is to regain control over my sexual muscle.

Warning:

Do not overwork the mucles as it would be ineffective in the long run.

Why? ....this is because if they get tired, they might come back to their tensed state and eliminate any progress made.

How??

.....will resume in the next post. Stay tune!

Ejaculation vs Prostate Cancer

An epidemiological study of 30,000 American men by Michael Leitzman, a cancer researcher at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, has found that men who enjoy an active sex life do not risk prostate cancer in later life.

Leitzmann's findings were:

1) that men who ejaculate between 13 - 20 times a month had a 14% lower risk of prostate cancer that men who ejaculated on average, between 4 and 7 times a month for most of their adult life.

2) Men who ejaculated  > 21 times a month had a 33% lower lifetime risk of prostate cancer than the baseline group.

But ..but...

There has been a suggested link with greater sexual activity and increased incidents of prostate cancer in previous scientific data because of the link with the male hormone testosterone and its effect on promoting cancer cell growth.

So which is true???? Ah....to hell with it. Just enjoy!!!
