What caught my attention is this display which is located near the tricksaw on the left
It’s
got a fucking cobra and a scorpion in it. Fuck.
Inside, a cobra snake in perched up position making the hood visible
and excellent for display
Isn't this a 5
star Presentation
This
fine wine comes out of south east asia and has to be awarded 5 stars
for presentation alone! The bottle is sealed tightly, reinforced
with tape to prevent any leakage.
Sometimes
they try to rip you off with the cobras. If you look closely its not
always a cobra, sometimes its just a water snake that has been pulled
and prodded to look like a cobra
Method of
Preparation
Snake
blood wine is prepared by cutting a snake along its underside and
draining its blood into the drinking cup filled with rice wine or
grain alcohol. Snake bile wine is prepared in a similar method by
using the contents of the gall bladder.
The
drink itself is a rice wine or rice spirit that has been infused with
a combination of real Cobras, Vine Snakes, Scorpions, ginseng roots
and herbal seedpods + red pepper pellets. before
the drink is left to ferment for months so
that a truly unique, and somewhat acquired, taste can be achieved.
During this period any venom that is present is also neutralised by
the alcohol.
Why
people drink??
Snakes
are believed to possess medicinal qualities and the wine is often
advertised to cure everything from hair loss to short-sightedness, as
well as to increase sexual desire, performance and virility of gullible men.
How much to drink?
Snake
which is the less dangerous among medicinal wines, people shouldn't
drink more than 15-30 ml of this wine a day.
All
famous herbalists questioned about Snake wine and others medicinal
wines said that these wines could cause problems if taken in
excessive amounts, but fortunately not health threatening problem.
Cost
US45 sold in ebay or Euro 80 at certain sites - again depending on the wine's capacity
